Parkson Launches Maintenance-Free Line of Rotoshear® Rotating Drum Screens

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – May, 10 2012.  Parkson Corporation has introduced a new line of rotating drum screens that doesn’t require the need for daily maintenance or lubrication.

The Rotoshear® EZ-CARE line provides the same high capture rate as traditional Rotoshear units, while offering improvements in by-product recovery and screening efficiency.

“The Rotoshear EZ-CARE unit is lubrication-free, therefore making it the first daily maintenance-free pumped flow rotating drum screen,” says Serdar Umur, Rotoshear Product Manager. “We redesigned the technology to continue performing at the highest level, and at the same time significantly reduce costs for labor and lubricant supplies.”

A typical rotating drum screen requires periodic maintenance to counteract friction and normal wear and tear on the system’s metallic components. Without constant attention, a unit can suffer heat build-up and erosion, which often leads to increased power consumption and premature failures.

Parkson’s Rotoshear EZ-CARE, however, eliminates the need for frequent lubrication and maintenance by incorporating non-metallic components in the wheel bearings and other key areas.

“The unit’s drive system features polymeric components that greatly reduce wear and prevent severe erosion between the coupled components,” said Umur.

The EZ-CARE line was developed after gathering data from current Rotoshear operators to understand ways to make the system more operator-friendly. The result is a technology that relieves the burden of constant maintenance and offers easy access to all major system components.

The Rotoshear EZ-CARE screen is available in more than a dozen configurations, with many application-specific custom features for use in municipal wastewater treatment and various industrial applications.
